You need over 15 visual skills to succeed in reading, learning, sports, and in life. Seeing '20/20' is just one of those visual skills; deficiencies in the others cannot be treated adequately with just glasses, contact lenses and/or patching, and are best resolved through a program of Vision Therapy.
Vision Therapy is also used in rehabilitation following brain injuries such as stroke or brain hemorrhage when vision defects result.
Deficient visual and ocular- motor skills can negatively impact a patient’s success in academics, sports, self-esteem and life in general. To address a patient's visual problems, an eye doctor will design an appropriate Vision Therapy program; the objective is to develop proper visual, perceptual and ocular- motor abilities in the patient so that the patient can perform to his or her full potential in school and in life.
One component of the eye health examinations that our doctor's perform determines a patient’s visual and ocular-motor skill level so that the doctor can assess the need for Vision Therapy.

Treatable ocular-motor problems like convergence insufficiency can impair a person's ability to read and learn. Remember that 70-90% of our classroom learning comes via our visual system. If a person's visual system is not functioning optimally, the person may suffer poor performance in school and life. It is very difficult to achieve a high level of academic success with visual and ocular-motor problems. Fortunately, Vision Therapy is here to help.
